Hobbies: His hobbys for the most part are ones that anyone passing by wouldn't take a second glance to. Playing chess is one of them, though people might question the fact that he doesn't need another person to play the game but who better to challenge then yourself? And when you can mentally put yourself in your opponents place and figure out not only all thier possible moves but what is most likely and plan accordingly then you prevent as many holes as possible.
Along with that reading is another thing that Rufus is often observed doing, obtaining information is endless but sometimes reading for enjoyment is needed as well and is a great way to destress after a day of insanity.

Physical appearance: Rufus can never be seen by the public looking anything other then his best, and to prove it he is found wearing a white suit, spotless and wrinkle free. For some unknown reason he is often seen wearing several layers, black leather vest, white shirt then a black shirt under that. His blond hair is brushed back with bangs framing his face.

Personality: Rufus is manipulative, he'll say/do anything to get what he wants and will use any means to keep control over people. He rules part by fear, part by respect and part manipulation and feels that they all go hand in hand, without all of them you fail. He refuses to let anyone see true weaknesses because that gives them power over him.

History: Rufus was born into a happy life, with both parents, his mother whome was always around. He both respected and loved his parents and loved spending time with his mother. Things slowly started to change after his eighth birthday when his mother died. Causes unknown. Loosing the most important person in his life, the person who was around him all the time hit him hard and he couldn't comprehend the idea of never seeing her again. From there on out things quickly started to go downhill. His emotional pain turned to physical as well as his father started to beat him for no reason he could figure out. Not only was he loosing his mother, he was loosing his father and he couldn't figure out why.
Unsure as to what was going on and how his life could change so dramaticly so fast he began to investigate what he felt was the source. His mothers death. Maybe figuring that out would help him figure out the rest. Slowly he came to the suspision that his father was involved, and his hatred for him began. Unable to prove anything he continued to investigate. His personality changed, he was no longer the happy go lucky boy that he was when he was really little but the morphing into a more cold and serious, his trust in humanity had deteriated.
Rufus began to silently plot to take the company out from under his fathers feet just out of spite. He never needed to act on his plan as Sephiroth eliminated his father for him. Rufus quickly stepped up and took control. Wanting to rule by fear Rufus sent his trusted turks out to find and kill Avalanche and make an example of them. However before this could be done the Shinra building was attacked and Rufus was caught in the rubble. Miraciously he avoided death, though not by much and was somehow saved by his Turks. Not remembering anything since the buildings distruction he woke up weeks later bed ridden at Healin Lodge. Rufus is making steady progress in his injurys but still isn't 100 percent. Wanting to remain hidden he stays couped up at the lodge plotting and minipulating key players so that when he is ready Shinra can take control.
